Applicability:All the shops and establishments having 20 or more number of employees are required to register and comply with the act’s provisions. For less than 20 employees they need intimation.

Penal Provisions:For first offence employer are liable to pay fine not less than Rs. 1000 to 2000/-, For second time employer have to pay fine of Rs. 3000 to 30000/- or 1-year imprisonment and For continuous offence it led to fine of Rs. 500 per day.
