This act was enacted to regulat the employment of contract in establishments, to provide them with proper working conditions and welfare schemes to contract workers, to abolish the system of contract labour in jobs where job is perennial and of a permanent nature and to provide protection to contract worker against exploitation by contractors and principal employers
