The Women and Child Development Department, Government of Maharashtra issued a notification under the POSH Act 2013 vide notification number - (क्रमाांक 2026/प्र.क्र.11/का.१५), dated 14 May 2026 to ensure implementation of provisions of the Act.

Key Highlights:

District Officer and State Nodal Officer are responsible for implementation of the act.
Establishments to retain basic information for contact/provided addresses for inspection.
Draft and implement POSH Policy, communicate it to every employee.
Internal Committee (IC) to be constituted in any office/unit having 4 or more employees, with 50% women.
Senior woman employee to be IC Chairperson (optional) NGO member may be included.
Sufficient multiple complaint modes to be made available (Email, Written, SHe-Box).
IC to acknowledge complaints within 07 days, with confidentiality and transparency.
Women employees to be provided interim relief by way of transfer, leave, etc.
Employees to be provided counselling/legal assistance on request.
Members of the IC to be provided training and regular awareness programs to be organized for employees.
Enquiries to be conducted in 90 days, and in 60 days, the employer to act on the report of the IC.
Storage of complaints in secured manner with ensured safe and secured workplace in both physical and digital form.
Inclusion of POSH Compliance in annual reports with details of activities and sessions held.
Nodal Officer and IC details to be uploaded and SHe-Box portal compulsory onboarding.
