Minimum Wages of Arunachal Pradesh
As declared in the official gazette by the Department of Labour and Employment, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the minimum rates of wages per day and per month have been revised under Notification No. LAB (M'W) - 22/2016. Signed by Kapa Kholie, Secretary (L&E), this statutory mandate officially supersedes the previous notification No. LAB (MW) 02/2010 (dated 30 April, 2014) and comes into force with effect from 1st April 2016. This directive applies strictly to all 30 scheduled employments listed within the state documentation, establishing localized wage baselines across designated geographic zones (Area-I and Area-II).

Employment Categories & Additional Benefits
Unskilled:Workers who have at least one year experience in the trade, able to do repetitive work or simple jobs using simple tools or machines
Semi-skilled:Workers who have at least one year experience in the trade, able to do repetitive work or simple jobs using simple tools or machines
Skilled:Workers who perform tasks requiring specialized skills, training or technical ability; they are more independent in their work (beyond just repeating simple tasks)
Highly Skilled:Workers with advanced technical knowledge, supervisory or managerial roles, or highly specialized competence (engineers, senior supervisors, etc.)
Penalty & Compensation for paying less than Minimum Wages
Penalty:Fine of Rs. 500/- or 6 months imprisonment or both
Compensation:Up to ten times the difference between the prescribed minimum wage and the wage actually paid.
