Minimum Wages of Chhattisgarh
Chhattisgarh has revised minimum wages through Notification No. VIII/MW/LC/2026/2661 dated 8th October, 2026, effective from 1st October, 2026 to 31st March, 2027. Zone A daily rates are now ₹444 for Unskilled, ₹469 for Semi-skilled, ₹499 for Skilled and ₹529 for Highly-skilled workers, a rise of ₹5 per day.

Employment Categories & Additional Benefits
Unskilled:Workers who have at least one year experience in the trade, able to do repetitive work or simple jobs using simple tools or machines
Semi-skilled:Workers who have at least one year experience in the trade, able to do repetitive work or simple jobs using simple tools or machines
Skilled:Workers who perform tasks requiring specialized skills, training or technical ability; they are more independent in their work (beyond just repeating simple tasks)
Highly Skilled:Workers with advanced technical knowledge, supervisory or managerial roles, or highly specialized competence (engineers, senior supervisors, etc.)
Penalty & Compensation for paying less than Minimum Wages
Penalty:Fine of Rs. 500/- or 6 months imprisonment or both
Compensation:Up to ten times the difference between the prescribed minimum wage and the wage actually paid.
