Minimum Wages of Gujarat
The Labour Commissioner's Office, Government of Gujarat (Gandhinagar), has announced the special allowance (dearness allowance) daily rates under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948. The notice is dated 5 October 2026 and carries the reference number Kramank: Shra.Aa.6/Te.3/2026/403 to 428. It is signed by the Deputy Labour Commissioner, the competent authority under the Act. The rates are effective from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027 and are paid on top of the basic minimum wage for each employment.

Employment Categories & Additional Benefits
Unskilled:Workers who have at least one year experience in the trade, able to do repetitive work or simple jobs using simple tools or machines
Semi-skilled:Workers who have at least one year experience in the trade, able to do repetitive work or simple jobs using simple tools or machines
Skilled:Workers who perform tasks requiring specialized skills, training or technical ability; they are more independent in their work (beyond just repeating simple tasks)
Penalty & Compensation for paying less than Minimum Wages
Penalty:Fine of Rs. 500/- or 6 months imprisonment or both
Compensation:Up to ten times the difference between the prescribed minimum wage and the wage actually paid.
