Minimum Wages of Haryana
The Labour Department of the Haryana Government has officially issued an extraordinary gazette Notification No. 2/25/26-2 Lab dated April 9, 2026, enforcing a major overhaul of the baseline wage structure across the state. The effective date of this order is April 1, 2026 (01.04.2026). Authorized by Rajeev Ranjan, Principal Secretary to the Government of Haryana, this mandate revises the basic minimum rates of wages under Sub-Section (3) of Section 8 of the Code on Wages, 2019. The newly prescribed total minimum wage rates are legally fixed at ₹15,220.71 per month (₹585.41 per day) for Unskilled workers, ₹16,780.74 per month (₹645.41 per day) for Semi-Skilled workers, ₹18,500.81 per month (₹711.56 per day) for Skilled workers, and ₹19,425.85 per month (₹747.14 per day) for Highly-Skilled professionals. To ensure seamless LEMS integration, payroll administrators must note that these are absolute basic rates that cannot be segregated into components or allowance structures by the employer. Furthermore, calculating per-day wages requires dividing the monthly baseline by 26 days. The directive strictly prohibits gender wage discrimination, mandates equal pay for equal skill levels, and holds the principal employer personally responsible for ensuring full contractor compliance.
