Minimum Wages of Himachal Pradesh
The Government of Himachal Pradesh, through the Department of Labour Employment & O.P., officially issued notification number No. Shram(A)4-1/2024 on June 24, 2025, which revised the minimum wage rates across all 19 scheduled employments in the state. This landmark update is effective retroactively from April 1, 2025, and applies broadly to critical sectors such as agriculture, construction, public motor transport, shops, and manufacturing units. Under the new structure sanctioned by Secretary Priyanka Basu Ingty, daily wages are set at ₹425 for unskilled workers, range from ₹438 to ₹452 for semi-skilled workers, vary between ₹481 and ₹493 for skilled workers, and scale from ₹513 up to ₹588 for highly skilled workers. To ensure compliance with regional mandates, the notification strictly prohibits gender bias by requiring equal wages for male and female workers doing similar work, while also introducing a 25% wage increase for laborers in Scheduled Tribal Areas and an additional 20% allowance for those operating inside tunnels.
