Minimum Wages of Jharkhand
The Government of Jharkhand's Department of Labour, Employment, Training and Skill Development has officially issued the much-anticipated Notification No. 2/MW-2071/2010(Part-3)L&T-742 .Exercising the statutory powers conferred under Section 6 of the Code on Wages, 2019, the Governor of Jharkhand has sanctioned revised Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) scales calculated from the six-month average All India Consumer Price Index (which reached 425 points). This mandate strictly defines the new minimum wage benchmarks across Category A, B, and C regions for unskilled, semi-skilled, skilled, and highly skilled workers. Employers statewide must ensure compliance as this statutory order establishes a mandatory effective date of April 1, 2026 (01.04.2026), ensuring equal remuneration and protecting daily wage earners across all covered commercial and public establishments.
