Minimum Wages of Madhya Pradesh
The Labour Commissioner, Madhya Pradesh, Indore, has issued revised minimum wage rates along with Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for workers covered under the notified employments in the state. The revised rates are effective from 1 October 2026 and will remain applicable up to 31 March 2027. The rates have been determined with reference to the applicable provisions of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 and the relevant Consumer Price Index. The notification also specifies the applicable VDA and minimum wage rates for various scheduled employments, including agriculture, bidi manufacturing, agarbatti employment, textile and made-ups, apparel, footwear manufacturing and other notified employments.

Description:It is to guarantee that workers in scheduled jobs are paid a fair minimum wage, avoid exploitation, and maintain a minimal standard of living.
Applicability:It covers all Madhya Pradesh scheduled jobs even it every employee, contract labourer and labourers. It relates to government buildings, local governments, mines, factories, and other scheduled industries. It does not include members of the armed forces

Penalty & Compensation for paying less than Minimum Wages
Penalty:Fine of Rs. 500/- or 6 months imprisonment or both
