The Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Mizoram, has issued Notification No. B.14015/4/2010-LESDE/417 under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, revising the state's daily wage rates with effect from 1st April, 2023.
Released by Secretary Lalramsanga Sailo, the directive applies to all public and private undertakings, establishing standard daily payouts for sectors like Roads & Building Operations, Registered Factories, and Casual/Muster Roll employees. Under this framework, all-inclusive base rates are fixed at ₹420/day for Unskilled, ₹460/day for Semi-Skilled, ₹570/day for Skilled-II, and ₹730/day for Skilled-I workers, with Public Motor Transport tracking a separate scale starting at ₹380/day. To maintain strict compliance, the update mandates an 8-hour technical workday, guarantees gender pay equality, and includes 11 annual paid holidays.
