According to the official document issued by the Punjab Government Labour Department, Notification No. Labour-Lab0MIWA/1/2021-4L (260032)/166, the basic minimum rates of wages across all employments in the state of Punjab have been revised. This statutory update officially comes into force with an effective date w.e.f. 1st May, 2026.

Under the new Punjab directive, the basic minimum wage is structured by worker skill levels, establishing a monthly rate of Rs. 13,486 (Rs. 518.69 per day) for Unskilled workers, Rs. 14,383 (Rs. 553.19 per day) for Semi-Skilled workers, Rs. 15,414 (Rs. 592.84 per day) for Skilled workers, and Rs. 16,601 (Rs. 638.50 per day) for Highly-Skilled workers.
