Minimum Wages of Telangana

According to the official order issued by the Labour, Employment, Training & Factories Department of the Government of Telangana, vide G.O.Ms.No.6 Dated: 30.05.2026, the basic minimum rates of wages have been comprehensively revised across the state. This statutory update applies to all covered skill categories and employments under the Code on Wages, 2019, and officially comes into force with an effective date w.e.f. 1st June, 2026. The monthly basic wage structure is segmented across distinct geographical zones. For instance, under Zone-I (Municipal Corporations), the revised monthly minimum wages are established at ₹16,000 for Unskilled personnel, ₹17,000 for Semi-Skilled, ₹18,500 for Skilled, and ₹20,000 for Highly Skilled employees. Enterprise compliance teams must immediately adjust their payroll metrics to align with these newly gazetted baseline structures to maintain regulatory conformity.

Employment Categories & Additional Benefits
Unskilled:Workers who have at least one year experience in the trade, able to do repetitive work or simple jobs using simple tools or machines
Semi-skilled:Workers who have at least one year experience in the trade, able to do repetitive work or simple jobs using simple tools or machines
Skilled:Workers who perform tasks requiring specialized skills, training or technical ability; they are more independent in their work (beyond just repeating simple tasks)
Highly Skilled:Workers with advanced technical knowledge, supervisory or managerial roles, or highly specialized competence (engineers, senior supervisors, etc.)
Penalty & Compensation for paying less than Minimum Wages
Penalty:Fine of Rs. 500/- or up to 6 months imprisonment or both.
Compensation: Up to ten times the difference between the prescribed minimum wage and the wage actually paid.
