Minimum Wages of Tripura

The Government of Tripura, Labour Department has issued revised notifications increasing the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) based on a 59-point average increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the calculation period from July 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025. These official orders specify a standardized effective date of April 1, 2026 across several key employment schedules, including Shops and Establishments (No.F.22(74)-LAB/ENF/MW/SHOPS/2022/660-77), Agriculture (No.F.22(28)-LAB/MW/AGRI/2022/852-1072), Mechanical Workshops (No.F.22(50)/LAB/ENF/MW/MECHANIC/2022/1206), Private Security Guards (No.F.22(56)-LAB/ENF/MW/PSG/2022/7566-83), and Public Motor Transport (No.F.22(62)-LAB/ENF/MW/MTW/2022/1291-1308).

Penalty & Compensation for paying less than Minimum Wages

Penalty	Fine of Rs. 500/- or up to 6 months imprisonment or both.
Compensation	Up to ten times the difference between the prescribed minimum wage and the wage actually paid.
